Yes, but this legalises and endorses it.

yes-it does guess those that did return home recently may well be returning again-now that was no fault of the current government

Because disabled employee's cost more and generally aren't as productive as an abled person. Harsh but true.

All of us? The only thing I can't do is talk on the phone. It would work quite well if someone would do my phone work for me.

I've spent the last sixteen months looking for work. As soon as the potential employer knew that I was unable to use a phone and, effectively, less competent than my fellow applicants, they did not want to know.

I applied for hundreds of jobs in that 1.5 years and i bagged one interview! One!

Applying for entry level jobs, they wondered why a 30 year old with a degree wanted a school leavers job.
I could be very productive if I was given half the chance. Aren't you a driving instructor? What gives you the right to generalize in such a crass fashion?

Do you know anything about disabilities and employment?

Why would I cost more money and why would I be less productive than you? Why? Would your ability to use a telephone make up for your obvious short comings in general intelligence and attitude?

Total bollocks even as a disabled worker I was rated as one of the top 5 workers in my place until my disability worsened and I could no longer get up and down the stairs at my work place. And if your thinking we cost more because of having to make adjustments to buildings again in my experience your talking bollocks because even though campanies get grants for these things they find it easier to find a way of getting rid of you rather than make the adjustments you need as they did with me.

I thought all business had to be disabled friendly now thought that was law, so hiring someone should not actually cost any extra.

Try telling that to the company I worked for! The thing that pisses me off most about all that is they got rid of me for being disabled and they did'nt have any buildings within a reasonable distance that were disabled friendly, Then they go and advertise my job under the equality law which means it's not just open to people of all ethnic origins, sex etc but people of all disabilities as well. Figure that one out! The whole equality law for disabled workers is a waste of time as there's still too many loop holes for companies to use and too many things left open for interpretation.

I apologise for my first post on this thread. Looking back it's insensitive, inaccurate and crass.

Recruitment should be about one thing and one thing only, the persons ability to do the job. Discrimination of any kind is unacceptable in my opinion.

I've seen some bad examples in my work place, where targets have had to be lowered. However that doesn't mean this is consistent everywhere else.

Apologies for the rant. A culmination of frustration, disappointment and anger that should have been directed at the system.

Disability employment advice is a shoddy gimmick. Maybe I just had bad luck with three or four useless persons.

Far too many employers hiding behind too many applicants to give feedback and what-have-you. Load of bollocks!

A massive incentive to give my aspirations of becoming a writer a good crack. Pah!

I don't think holding your breath for a couple of months will improve your work opportunities!

Good luck. I did some voluntary work which helped me feel better about myself and good to put ones time towards something positive!
