Interesting that Carrick has been given a new contract at Middlesbrough. Perhaps he applied for the Brighton manager role and we showed interest. They have tried to secure their manager with a new contract. Pure speculation on my behalf, of course.

I'm thinking its not the one. Very little accomplished in terms of results, their football (at least based on data) appears to be nothing we'd be interested in, not to mention he has spent his entire career switching jobs in a pretty bad league.

Probably, in one way or another, related to Beram Kayal playing for them: they've heard about us, their manager is doing well (I think?). Just takes one lad to say "maybe Brighton are taking our manager and Beram as the assistant" and a few bets and the hype is on.

Can't say I've thoroughly investigated this Drapic guy but it just seems incredibly unlikely.

Hopefully will be rubbish at Chelsea. For what it's worth I expect he would have been on our list as well as Arne Slot and Kieren McKenna but where we got lucky with RDZ being out of work at just the right time, it seems (although none of us have got the foggiest) that the timing hasn't been as fortunate this time around.

This is arguably the hardest period to appoint a manager in recent history. So many top jobs are available. Once the positions start getting filled it will become easier to pick from the pool of remaining options but I get the feeling the club have been ambitious in who they've gone after and have found bigger fish swooping in before we can. The club will stick to the process and appoint a manager in the right profile.

Unless they appoint Potter, in which case they'd have given up and gone for Mr Boring.
