I'd go for Crofts although Bennett did well but had a couple of "sloopy" moments that put him into second place.

I think Elphick sems to be playing a more controlled game and Dicker was good also.

MoM: CROFTS

Dicker for me. Some lovely touches in the 1st half and fought well in the 2nd.

Of the back 4, Elphick worked well and looked fairly composed most of the time. El-Abd got stuck in well. No stupid back passes and didn't back off too much but really needs to think about bringing the ball forward when a space occurs rather than a hopeful hoof up.

Sadly, Craig Davies will never be the superstar that I wished for and predicted. A better team would have punished some of the comedy defending esp in the 2nd half but perhaps we may have raised our game too.

Bit dull to watch but happy with the result.

Crofts, but I predict Dicker will have the majority vote on here, because he has a few good touches a game which makes everything think he's amazing, even though he didn't really do anything.

I thought Tommy had a good game, very assured. Bennett always looked dangerous & Coxy's work rate was excellent.

Tommy Elphick shaded it in my book though.

MOM for me was Tunnicliffe won everything in the air and made some good last ditch tackles. Elphick played well but nearly cost a goal when he and Smith left the ball for each other when it was easier for Elphick to put it in row Z.

Bennett for me.

On the flip side, and I apologise in advance for being negative, has anybody said to Whing that we are "under new management" and that comedy defending, staring at the attacking player from an obtuse angle whilst contemplating putting in a tackle and standing off the play, are all "old hat" and no longer form part of Albion's game plan? I didn't think he was at his best tonight although he did shout and clap a lot.

Possibly that's why Gus wants Hoyte back sharpish.

Bennett, even if he did frustrate as much as excite

Couldn't get to the game. The Times had Bennett as MOM (flair) but on the radio it sounded like Crofts was bossing it.

Dicker's name oddly not mentioned all that often - he's a potential super star IMHO and the fact that others are playing better so he gets less attention is a good sign.
