Voted Chelsea. I don't hate Palace, I just hate it when we lose to them as I want to lord it over them for ever. I don't really hate Chelsea either, although as others have said they do represent a lot of what is wrong with modern football. And no us and Chelsea are not rivals and never have been. They are too big for that.

Palace = the bloke you had constant run ins with at school in the 70s. f***ing hated each other but now realise you’re not that different and can laugh about the scraps at the bus stop and in Shades.

Chelsea = the flash, manipulative, malevolent **** you met at the height of your career. An evil force you’d heard about but never encountered such was their reputation. When you did, it took all of your own cunning and resilience to ‘just’ stay in the game.

Need NO history lesson. Voted Chelsea.

Good analogy

There was a proper wanker at our school. Bullied us when we were about 8 . . . still tried extorting mony from us when we were 17 . . .proper wrongun . . . He's dead now, which is nice . . .one of my oldest friends and also nicest ( wouldn't hurt a fly) sent me a message years ago when it happened . . .apparently cremated in his chelsea shirt . . . . . He said, good, 2 pieces of shit gone in one!

I did wonder at the time how bad a childhood he must have had to end up like that.

The difference between Palace and Chelsea for me is that I 'hate' Palace in a pantomime fashion, but I'm glad they exist. And I would fight to keep them in existence if they were ever seriously threatened as a club like we were. But Chelsea? I would celebrate if they went out of business tomorrow. They are everything that is wrong with football.

So Chelsea.

There are at least 225 million reasons why I am not that bothered about Chelsea. :)

Why do we keep having this question.
As said, and agreed with, I'd sit down and have a sensible pint and chat with a Palace fan. The Chelsea fan wouldn't sit down and if they did would argue about everything.
But the Palace fan would also agree to hate us in a friendly way. The Chelsea fan wouldn't even agree we exsisted.

I find hate a strong word that I would never apply to a football club - it's only a game after all. So therefore I can't answer the question.

There is no rivalry with Chelsea just a temporary irritant much like Orient once were, they are a bunch of shithouses but then so are many other clubs. Palace are another level, absolutely detest them and always will.

I'll happily sing 'we hate palace etc. but the reality is I don't hate them . . . It faded in the late 80's 90's as we never played them for years . . . . Then REMF kind of changed things a bit for me, yes they're Palace, yes they're Chavvy saaf Laandan , but they played their part, and I have respect for that.

I don't imagine Chelsea ever doing anything like that, they are pure scum in every respect and at all levels.

They had a brief Italian renaissance late 90's and it's been downhill ever since . . . . I have nothing positive to say at all since RA took over. . . . The sooner they cease to exist the better. They epitomise everything that is wrong with football.
Very good point

I've met far more Chelsea fans I dislike than Palace fans, so on that basis, Palace.

In terms of obnoxious fans :
1 = MUFC
1= Arsenal
3 Chelsea
4 Portsmouth
5 Liverpool

Yeah, maybe you're correct. Certainly, I have had far more disdain for Chelsea and Leeds in recent years than I have for Palace, and as someone pointed out they came to the part regarding REMF so maybe it's time to move on from a historical petty squabble and focus our attention on the real villains. Alternatively, we could multitask and just add Chelsea as the "other team" that deserves our disdain. As a certain erstwhile Chelsea fan and current Brighton captain said when asked if scoring means more when it's against Palace "of course it does"
