The dull part of the south coast
One week away from our final group game in the Europa League against Marseille. The winners go through automatically to the round of 16, the losers to a playoff match against those ending up third in their Champions League group, and the successful team also into the round of 16.

Obviously, like all Albion fans, I want to top the group but if not we’re still in with a fighting chance. So on the basis we end up second here is a list of potential opponents for that playoff place :

Those teams that are reasonably assured of third place in their group - Lens, Sporting Braga, Red Bull Salzburg, Feyenoord, Young Boys.

From those a further potential trip on our European tour to France, Portugal, Austria, back to Holland, and those youthful chaps from Switzerland.

The other candidates for a playoff place is a bit more complicated as points, or lack of, will determine who remains in the CL and who is demoted or worse ends up 4th. They are - Galatasary, Man Utd, FC Copenhagen, Newcastle, AC Milan, PSG, Porto, Shaktar Donetsk.

Out of that lot I doubt anyone will want to visit the two English clubs, Turkey might be ‘exciting’, Copenhagen is expensive but a lovely city, you‘ll never see Palace in Milan, Gay Paree could be the easiest trip if we play PSG, Portugal for Porto could be a good one. As for Roberto’s old team I’m not sure where they even play.

My choice? Sporting Braga who have the most unusual stadium ever built - look it up! :drink:

Braga or Shaktar for me. Shaktar would be a great reunion for De Zerbi, and Hamburg is a great night out (and has the world's biggest model railway!). Braga is a bucket list stadium for me and would be a new country.

On the Border
My wife wants Roma as she tags along for the sight seeing on European trips.

My personal choice would be Atalanta just to see RDZ celebrating on the pitch, and waving a Brescia flag to console the locals

Desperately need to top the group and avoid the play offs, purely for personal reasons as I cant make one of the February games, but the ultimate for me would be Milan.

Just the mention of the model railway has moved Hamburg up my list.

Brighton
Something similar to Amsterdam, just a little less expensive.
Attendance of 5K+, a central bars area, easy and cheap to get to and no hooligans on the other side.
Oh, and maybe a bit of history.
