Could have been Swansea/Port Vale as all my lot are from Wales or the midlands, but as a 7 year old I was taken to the Goldstone for an FA Cup 3rd round reply between Brighton-Barnet & said I'd support whoever won!! 20 odd years later here I am!

Meopham, Kent.
Well, my dad was born and breed Croydon, and his brother still lives there to this day, and still supports his local football team.

So if my mum and dad (who met at the King Alfred) had moved back to my dads area, I would have supported the only football team in the area.

Sutton United.

Everyone I've ever heard about in my family supported albion. I come from Brighton, my Grandad used to work on the turnstile at the goldstone and I've never looked at another team. Whats the point??

:lolol:

My old mans side of the family is from Brighton but the old dears is from the west London/Brentford area. Even though being born in Hertfordshire my parents moved to Shoreham when I was 18months old so its been Brighton since I could understand footy :D

Otherwise it might of ended up Luton or Spurs if we stayed in Hertford :nono:

Would have been Arsenal I'm afraid. Mums family are all north Londoners. Still, better than being a Man U fan!:clap2:

My mum is from Brixton and dad from Horley so I could have been a Palace fan, thankfully my grandparents on my dad's side are originally from Brighton but other grandparents from Nottingham so could have been Forest/County. Further back there are links to Germany (during WWII my great grandfather had to leave the country because of prejudice!!) but generally all in the Surrey and Sussex area.

Fortunately my dad doesn't support Palace though, his team is Bolton, but my uncle is Man Utd. they couldn't face being Palace I guess

The mighty ( but now flawed) Huddersfield Town place of my whelping

I still look out for Town's results and if Brighton are not playing and Town are close, I will go. The fans are very funny - you think we are sarcastic - it sounds funnier when spoken in an eh up accent.

I was also tempted for 1 nano-second to support Leeds until I came to my senses.

I have been in brighton since 1974 and saw my first game in that year and was hooked straight away.

My dad was from Barnsley, and followed them as a lad in the 30s, and my mum's from North End, Portsmouth.

Apparently 100 years ago I had an ancestor who was an umbrella salesman from Portugal which presents more interesting possibilities

Tragically I was born very near Smellworst and could have become a Palarse fan ! Thankfully my parents moved to Sussex when I was five and neither of them was remotely interested in football anyway.

We nearly moved to Ipswich when I was eleven but that thankfully never happened either. I did live in Wigan for a while back in the 80s when they were even smaller than they are now and still played at Springfield Park (a ground that makes Withdean look like Old Trafford) but by then I was a committed BHA fan so Iwould go down to SP for some light entertainment only.

I did watch Wimbledon when they were in the Premier from time to time in the late 90s as I lived nearby but I was not a fan as such.

My family tree goes back to the early 1600s, all in Sussex, so I guess it was definitely the Albion for me!

I 'supported' QPR when I was 6 because I liked the name. I also 'supported' Rangers and Queen's Park in Scotland. Cough.

Luckily my dad took me to the Goldstone when I was 7 and it was Albion all the way from then on. A lucky escape, I think.
