Who buys the Daily Express?

And why?

I’m intrigued as to who would buy this rag. Its headline is invariably a prediction of dire weather, a miracle health cure for obesity / cancer / heart problems / diabetes, or something about the Royal Family.
I’ve only ever read through a copy twice, but the content was viciously right wing both times and seems to cover the same issues as The Daily Mail. In fact it’s like the Mail’s estranged, thuggish brother.

Apparently it was selling 640,000 copies a day last year, but I don't know anyone who reads it, and it's probably the only daily paper you can't find a copy of left in the staff room at the end of the day.

So, who does buy it?

My mother always has the Express on Saturday but mostly for the tv guide. However, she laps up all the heroic stories from the Second World War and nods sagely about the rise of EU " Assaults " on British Sovereignty etc. etc. She is unaware of the agenda's driven by Mr Dirty Desmond such as trying to get the UK out of Europe, Health Lottery publicity ( a separate Desmond business) and the " murder/cover-up " of the death of Diana ( lots of arm twisting by Al Fayed )or even the shameless publicity of Mr Desmond every time he attends a black tie award or charity event.
All in all a heinous little rag.

The Holy Grail and The Express are despicable papers, their readership perfectly summed up by Scotty Mac above.

Doubtless the Guardian which sells 279,308 copies daily is the first to be snapped up by all the leftists in the staff room! :lolol:

My Father reads the Daily Express, and The Sun. Really can't fathom why he reads either of 'em, both s**t!
He is certainly anti-EU, but certainly not anti-foreigner and certainly couldn't give a monkeys about Dead Di! As I said, i can't fathom why he reads it!

I always liked the strapline on the front page “The World’s Greatest Newspaper”.

Clearly delusional, but at least they’ve got a sense of humour.
