I wanted a Spanish speaking country in our sweepstake...which I did get...unfortunately it wasn't Spain, Chile or Argentina...but Honduras!

I can't see the the mighty Hondurans upsetting the form book, but if England can't win it I would like Spain to...really my choice is anyone but France who, as a half Paddy, denied me the opportunity of having two teams to cheer on!

Mind, it's frightening to think it's forty four years since my Dad took me to Roker Park for the Chile v Italy match; a boring 2-0 win in the rain for the Italians, if I remember correctly. Their only points I think, as they were beaten by Pak Doo Ik and his North Koreans at Ayresome Park and flew home to be pelted with rotten tomatoes. Ah well, at least it fills in some time while waiting for August.
