This is what's currently showing on the .gov.uk website:

European Parliament

There are 751 Members of the European Parliament (MEPs). Of those, 73 represent the UK.

Elections for the*European Parliament*take place every 5 years. The next election will be in May 2019.

The UK will leave the EU on 29 March 2019. After this, the UK will no longer have*MEPs. The UK will not take part in the European Parliamentary elections in May 2019.

If you’re an EU citizen living in the UK and want to vote in the European Parliament elections in May 2019, contact electoral authorities in the EU country where you’re a citizen.

There will be no change to the*rights and status of EU nationals living in the UK, nor UK nationals living in the EU, while the UK remains in the EU.

Without stating the "bleedin obvious" I guess we should be expecting an update.

Historically it hasn't much mattered who anyone has voted for in the (laughable) EU parliament. Few people are interested in it.

Maybe we should be ? Or should we carry on voting for people who don't turn up but are happy to accept the EU cash ?

Sadly - this is **exactly** the sort of utter bollox that has led us to leaving the EU.

A completely un-transparent, useless, gravy train for unknown, talentless, clueless wan*ers doing jack shit for a huge
salary on huge expenses at our cost. EU should have reformed and had the sense to realise which
way the wind was blowing before we made the decision to leave. They have to shoulder a part of the blame for us
leaving.

We might not be in the sh*t we are had they done that. And btw - I am
dreading leaving and did not want it.
