Boyd would be a great signing if we weren't able to get kaz. Is there anything in the Gudjohnson rumour is it just people throwing names round?

Watoosi Magoo , ex pediatrician now a much sought after nigerian striker , his off field antics may have put a few off as he has a liking for bling and Bimbos , but a very realistic target and his scoring rate is superb at 1 in 5

I think people are a little seduced by this one as his path crossed with Gus at Chelsea and the fact he is currently a free agent

Yeah I can see why people would think it. I just think wages would be a massive issue, and he could still do a job in the prem in my opinion, so it wouldn't surprise me if he was picked up by someone like Wolves or Wigan.

I know it doesn't always work like this, but is it just me that would MUCH rather 3 signings which added to what i can presume was the £2.5/3m we offered for Mackail smith? For that money given his age and Championship record i think he is well overpriced.

Latest on the rumours site, I know you take it with a pinch of salt, we are signing Robbie Keane, Eidur Gudjohnson if Poyet's talks with Anelka about a season loan come to nothing also signing Garvan from Palace and Robert Pires plus either Ibrahim Sonko or Sol Campbell. Wouldnt want Pires but other than that any of the others would be good if true.

But if Leicester paid it, and West Ham and Brighton also offered that (or close to that) then surely it isn't overpriced but the going rate?

Gus's ability to get a season out of Kish makes me think that he could do likewise with say Gudjohnson, Campbell or Pires. Any one of them would be a sound rock for us launching a serious assault on the Championship. If the rumours of another 5 players to come, is true; then we will have one hell of a squad come end of July.
Excitingly excited.

Sol campbell short term deal until Xmas may be a good call. Good for Dunk to learn from and cover until Adam El Abd and Tommy Elphick are fit. I think CMS actually wants to sign for us, but can't until we have an offer accepted. Boyd good player but wonder if he would 'fit' from a personality perspective. Baldock not good enough for us IMO. Pugh would be useful. Eidur -yes please.

IMO, it's a going rate for the clubs bound for administration. West Ham, Leicester and arguably Ipswich are all going for broke this season much like Cardiff have over recent years (and failed). If it doesn't pay off, then paying Kevin Nolan 40k-50k a week (from what i've read), as well as Carlton Cole, Green and others similar wages surely isn't sustainable? These clubs are paying vastly inflated prices in the hope of gaining a larger sum in revenue when they reach the Premier League. These teams don't make it, and they are f*cked.
Mackail-Smith scored 10 goals in his last season in the Championship, but has a superb record in League 1. However I don't think he's that technically gifted, he just hassles everything, i'm sure if you ask most people what they remember about him last season it wouldn't be his touch or aerial ability, it would be his willingness to run.
I think we'd be a much stronger team with 2 or 3 £1million players than 1 far from proven player at £3m.
