Not a player, but if I'm allowed Alan Mullery ... I had a fantastic chat with him in a pub one lunchtime (it was a promotional thing for some pubco), in the Withdean years before he was back in the fold. Came across as a brilliant bloke, full of stories and very funny.

I haven’t the slightest idea, but I have met and had great chats with Wally Gould, Nobby Horton and John Templeman
Lovely fellows, all of them.
Not a player, but I’ve had a good long chat with Mullers about his time at the Albion. Another good bloke.

I had a card on my Wedding Day signed by Mullery. The other half was a little put out when I said it was the highlight of the day for me!

Nelse, Gerry Armstrong, Keelo, Horton and Virgs are all good examples of nice, unpretentious footballers that I have had the privilege of meeting over the years.
Nelson comes across really well and likeable in his books as well.

I would add Gerry Ryan.

Watching Burn score such an important goal for his boyhood club - there was no resentment from me, just joy for a former player of ours scoring such a great & important goal for his boyhood club. He's always been a likeable bloke and I was super pleased for him.

Which other players, past or present, are just too likeable that you could never have any ill feelings towards?
Not sure about his dance in the changing room after the match, embarrassing....
