Maybe it was in regards to the young white girls trafficked and raped by the grooming gang in Rochdale. What 'white privilege' did they get? Their lives didn't matter according to the police.

Of course racism and inequality should eradicated, but lets not pretend white people are never let down by those that are supposed to protect them.

The stunt was definitely insensitive though and deliberately so. So I'm not defending it, before anyone cries racist..

You’re right to remember that, most people including me condemn those Pakistini British rape gangs, do so every time they’re uncovered, vilify the criminally inept councils who brushed it under the carpet, genuinely feel for the victims who were betrayed. Personally I’d like the prison sentences to mean life.

But that’s completely independent of the vile racism faced by many black people throughout much of the world.

Separate injustices, each requiring action.

Nobody is pretending that white people get an easy ride in life. Nobody is denying that white people can experience prejudice. But white people are not generally disadvantaged by the skin colour. The privilege is that on a societal level in Europe, the US and other colonial states, white skin is irrelevant, neutral, unremarkable. It doesn't close any doors; it doesn't hold you back; it hardly bears consideration.

Yeah I get it. Some are giving the impression white people have it easy though. Racism seems to be slowing dying out in the UK (it's nothing like it was in the 80's for example), of course there stll is, and probably always will be, some minority racists and they should rightfully be challenged. Imo I think the bigger challege is stopping black people from killing each other and fixing the broken homes, poor parenting and instilling a sense of self discipline and self responsibility in young people. Also more funding needs to be given to the police (as well as reform), not less funding. BLM seem to be anti-police, I can't get behind that.

Some are still walking around the same town they commited the rapes in. One victim saw one of the guys who raped her when she went out shopping (the rapist is meant to be deported, but still walking around free).

I completely agree it's independent of the injustices for many black people throughout the world. It was a stupid stunt but I guess they got the publicity they wanted.

If and when BLM is anti the UK police, I’m with you. Our police in 2020 are not an issue, it’s a million miles away from the steady shooting dead and suffocating of suspects by US police.

But other than a breakaway of scummers (white and black anarchists) looking to hurt our police on Whitehall a few weeks ago, BLM I don’t think has been banging on about our police, have they?

It’s about racism.

BLM have marxist trained leaders - they actually said this out of their own mouths. They also said they want to defund the police.
The way the police can be reformed and improved isn't that complicated, but defunding them (and thinking it will result in more black people getting a better education) is one of the worst things you can do.

As I said, those rapists should never see the light of day again. Deportation is fine by me.

But the racism faced by many innocent black people on the streets of this country must be tackled head on.

What did they mean by "Marxist trained"? Also, what did they mean by defund the police?

Those using this as part of a class war will always lose the support of the many. Belligerent political voices are always a turn off in this country.

Instead I listen to the apolitical anecdotes and ideas of the likes of Dion Dublin and Ian Wright, and many others with a story to tell, in a persuasive tone. That’s how change will happen, hearts and minds will be won, racists ostracised to a smaller and smaller rump.

One of the leaders (Patrisse Cullors) said in an interview "Myself and Alicia in particular are trained organizers. We are trained Marxists. We are super-versed on, sort of, ideological theories," she said, adding that the group's founders sought to "build a movement that could be utilized by many, many black folk." Marxism is the dedication to the ideology of Karl Marx, which is very anti-police.

Defunding the police is pretty vague, but I believe they mean reducing funds to the police to divert to community schemes. One of the co-founders did an AMA on Reddit a couple of weeks ago and her answers were extremely vague about any of their policies when asked for specifics. I mean this is their policy: https://blacklivesmatter.com/defundthepolice. Not wanting better (and on-going) training where officers need to meet a certain standard, regular psychological evaluations of officers, stricter recruitment, stricter with disciplinary records etc. just less money!

What about a black person who defends it on the grounds of free speech?

We don’t have free speech in the U.K. That said, what about this black person? You tell me.

A confused/confusing view, to be sure. You seem to be quoting a video from 2015 though-may I ask where you stumbled upon these quotes?

Who cares about the website BLM? As irrelevant as the JAFRAs.

I'm one of those white people who went to the sink or swim state comp, who did it myself, without any interest from my parents (normal in the 70's and 80's, except for the even then, savvy upper middle class). But being bright, having a knack for exams and probably being old in my year, I've ended up in a decent position in my life.

I actually agree with you about self fortitude. I don't believe in a levelling down.

But would I have faced the torment of racism at school then by being black, would I have failed to get the first job in my professional? My guess would be yes to both.

I'm usually one of the first on NSC to condemn bullying of any sort, antisemitism (much to the annoyance of NSC's hard left disciples), condemn convicted offenders including the Asian sex grooming gangs. So my sense of justice is pretty comprehensive and consistent to many sections of society.

White Lives Matter isn't a positive campaign to lift the opportunities of the white underprivileged. It's a banner (literally last night) to counter the increased campaign to stamp out the racism faced by the likes of Ian Wright, Dion Dublin and others. It's not a binary choice of wishing to erase racism, whilst not giving a jot about antisemitism, abuse of women, the abuse of kids, aiding the genuinely poor. We can want them all.

You have more patience than I do with JAFRAs and their dimwitted pilot fish.

Defund the police advocates cutting police budgets and redirecting those funds towards mental health care and community projects. The theory being this would prevent strain on the police services further down the line. I don't know if the UK police force can bear any more cuts but in the U.S where towns with populations of less than 10,000 have military sized budgets with armoured Humvee's sitting unused in police garages then yeah, I'd say it's worth looking at.

I naively hope to persuade. They think that everyone condemning the Burnley banner and similar is a left wing, anti White British traitor or politically correct liberal. Far from it, it’s a ‘broad church’ who know right from wrong.

Indeed.

British racists have repurposed the slogan to pretend the local nick is under threat. JAFRAs, your local nick was shut years ago by the tories. Dimbots. The nearest nick to Faversham, now, for example, is in Sittingbourne

Crikey, it must really hurt the racists to see their players taking the knee.

Photographed smiling with Yaxley-Lennon is not a winning look, so a few words of direction to the not paying attentioned is sufficient. These days.
