If this is true & Harry is the man.what will change?nothing.
Surely it will be keagan all over again.Whether we like it or not the England team picks itself.

Until the England team is made up of players that are asked to play the same way for their country as they do for their
club then things will never change.

Why on earth would he walk away from a £5m a year contract with no compo anyway?

Who's saying that he walked away? And if he did how do you know there wasnt a deal done?

Anyway, its all chineese whispers at the moment, nothing on the news websites yet either.

exactly

if redknapp is putting down his sides appalling run of form at the end of this season to van der vaart and bale being injured/misfiring and blaming that for them being wank, how on EARTH is he going to cope when his best players inevitably withdraw from international duty? claiming "we're down to the bare bones" and that he is a miracle worker just won't cut it at international level

I'd like to see Jose Mourinho do the England job, then we'd see how bloody special he actually is.

:lolol:

I've maintained for some time that Redknapp won't get the England job and he certainly won't get it with the court case hanging over him.

The FA has just got involved with a major row with FIFA over shady financial dealings, are they really going to giving up the moral high ground by appointing someone with more angles than a dodecahedron. They sacked Venables for far less - and that was without the FIFA distraction.

I hope Capello does go. Never have I been so underwhelmed by an England manager. Mind you, I really don't want Redknapp anywhere near that job.

Mourinho would genuinely make me excited about watching england again

Poisoned chalice, I doubt he'd touch the job with a bargepole, why would he when he can have his pick of excellent league clubs worldwide?

I mean it's not like England is blessed with a clutch of world class players looking for a decent manager is it?

he'd never take it - it would totally ruin his reputation as it has done with every other world class manager that has taken who have gone from that status to being derided as a clown by the media and public

I've come back home.
If harry backhander get the england job I will stop supporting them and just follow brighton. That man is a crook and has ruined every club he has manged with his dodgy dealings with agents. The man is a criminal and should be hung, drawn and quartered by the FA and HMRC.

Well I might be in a minority but I'm going to stand up for Capello, mainly on the basis that there isn't currently a better alternative, certainly not Redknapp. We had a near perfect qualifying tournament and for what my opinion is worth, our world cup campaign was undone by the one or two of the players. John Terry undermining the team morale with his extra marital affair and showing no remorse and then, although we didn't find out until after the world cup, Rooney had this attempted super injunction about his affairs whilst his wife had one in the oven. My only criticism would be that he didn't have the guts to select the form keeper, Joe Hart, over Green and that cost us a morale boosting victory over the USA. Looking at the Germany game, the result is what stands in the record books but had Lampard's goal been allowed, England were in the ascendency and going in at half time 2-2 would have put more pressure on the Germans having lost a two goal lead. We know we are not technically as good as Spain, Holland and a few others but that hasn't stopped us beating them before. Confidence is what is important and after Green's USA calamity, we had none.
