Albion have decided to drop their appeal to overturn Andrew Whing's red card against Tranmere Rovers.
Whing was sent off for a second bookable offence in injury time during Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Prenton Park. The former Coventry right-back had already been shown a dubious yellow card for kicking the ball away when he and Tommy Elphick clashed with Steve Davies on the edge of the box.
Seagulls boss Dean Wilkins claimed it was Elphick and not Whing who committed the foul and asked referee Graham Salisbury to reconsider his decision. But after watching the incident again on video the Albion boss has accepted there is no hope of reversing the decision, meaning Whing will be suspended for Saturday's visit of Southend.

Wilkins said: "We have had some advice from a local referee and have decided not to take that any further.
"From what we have been told the only way you can get the decision turned around is if it is a case of mistaken identity. Unfortunately the video is inconclusive whether it was Tommy or Andrew who made the contact."
Meanwhile, Wilkins is still trying to add to his squad before the transfer window closes on Friday, with Ipswich duo George O'Callaghan and Matt Richards among his targets.
He said: "They are two of a number of players we are considering but it is impossible to say whether anything will happen before Friday. We are trying our hardest but negotiations can sometimes be difficult."
