What's the point in saying he's going when there's no real evidence? Stoopid season just rolls on & on & on... :glare:

I know what, I'm going to read a rumour someone started on here a while back and make a thread saying EXACTLY that.

Yup, top work.

Still nothing in the press or the local rumour mill to suggest he is coming back up here.
All speculation seems to emanate from Brighton?

I hope he stays... a good player, and one we can do without losing... I do think it's about time he put pen to paper... sick of the unsubstantiated rumours...

If Whing doesn't stay it will be just cos of money. He's been offered a reasonable contract with us but has been offered a better one at Walsall.
I'd be surprised if that is true.

I'd be very surprised if Walsall were able to offer more money - they are pretty brassic.
Biggest current story here is that Jabo Ibehre may leave them for MKDons

Here's a scenario. Whing gets offered a deal by Albion. Whing says 'But I'm Player of the Season, I deserve more'. We look at Jason Crowe who can play right back, then tell Whing 'If you don't sign on these terms, we will offer less if Jason signs'. Whingy gets the hump and buggers off somewhere else in a huff!!

Bearing in mind where we are with regards to a new stadium and what with a rich Chairman now in charge, it would show a lack of ambition and short sightedness for him to leave us now.

He loves Brighton and the fans love him. In expect him to stay

Or Whing sits on the offer and listens to any other clubs that may be interested before he makes his descision? Which would be exactly what I would be doing if I had no personal allegiance to Brighton.

Where does Whing live?

Would you uproot if you were him?

Personally, I would hate to live so far from the sea, in the Midlands. I would get my agent to ask for a signing on fee so I could buy somewhere nice to live down south.

I think Wingy is a great player, and really worked hard to earn Player of the Season. people are saying how if we lost him it wouldn't be the end of the world because he isn't the most technically gifted player. But as a manager and chairman you need to look at what else he brings. He is a well respected player in the training camp, he gives the Albion a bit of a mental edge too, and he gives whatever he can to the club. I really want him to stay and i do think it will be a blow if we lose him, but i do think we can replace him if he goes.

Yes he has had an offer from Walsall, but the offer certainly isn't better than ours. The ONLY thing that could sway him towards signing is the location (near his family and friends).
Andy is happy here though and I think we will see him put pen to paper within the next week.
