ON behalf of myself and all the other players, we wish Jim McNulty the speediest of recoveries after he had a kidney removed late last week.
It was one of the worst injuries I have ever seen in football. A few of the lads went down to see him a couple of weeks ago in hospital and, although he was in a lot of pain, he was in good sprits.
It's such a massive blow for both him and us. To come in and start so well and now be sidelined for so long is disastrous.
I, touch wood, have never had a really serious injury, although I have broken my nose about eight times. I first did it in the Coventry youth team and ever since it's been really fragile – the slightest knock and it goes.
* I think that some of the loan players will have a slightly different mentality at the moment, regarding our situation.
They are all giving 100 per cent and, although it will still hurt them if we do get relegated, it won't affect them as badly as it will the contracted players. At the end of the season, many of the loan players will go back to their clubs no matter what happens here.
o My contract runs out at the end of the season and, to be honest, it's right at the back of my mind at the moment.
In an ideal world, every player would like to know what the future holds a lot earlier. But with recent circumstances, with the new manager and where we are at the moment, it hasn't happened.
It's not nice not knowing what the future holds, and a little frustrating, but I love it here in Brighton.
We have a great group of lads and the fans are fantastic.
We'll have to see what the future holds but I'm not concerned about it at the moment. We are just concentrating on the games, which is the most important thing.
Sounds a bit like we're holding off on contracts and if we go down we will 'cut our cloth' to suit our new situation... i.e. let our best players go.
er, no. We always wait, and our best players are all under contract.Sounds a bit like we're holding off on contracts and if we go down we will 'cut our cloth' to suit our new situation... i.e. let our best players go.
Dear oh dear.
Reads exactly like a quote from every other worker who quite likes their job but is worried about their future
