To be fair, I think he's been a bit of a prat to take so long. It smacks a little bit of over confidence in his own, limited, ability. But he's a good solid right back and I would rather have him here than see him somewhere else. This is the problem with signing players from up North, well midlands in this case, but even so. If you're going to sign these players, you take a risk on them wanting to move back there. I can't say I blame Whingy, I'm just glad he's going to sign.

Also,
Whing was a Adams signing so he must have felt a bit torn between loyalty's before he made up his mind.

:lolol: :dunce:

Not bothered in the slightest. He said he considered a position closer to home and has decided that he wants to play for us for a further two years at least. He would have been a fool to sign the first offer and was entitled to mull over it.

I would rather we have someone that takes their time over signing and is happy to stay at the club, rather than players who do not have their heart in it.

He obviously had other options to consider, he has done so, and I am delighted he chose us.

I won't forget his performance at MK, for that alone he showed why he is worthy of the stripes and few of the other players that day were.

Are people SERIOUSLY saying that they now don't like him because he took so long accepting the contract and is now overconfident?
Bloody hell.

I don't think he's as good as many do on here but very glad he's signed. :clap2:

Fair play to him for trying to get the best deal he could for himself. He wanted to go to Leeds presumably because he would get more money but that fell through. We were not offering as much but now he has accepted our offer. I am delighted that such a reliable high performer is staying. To diss him for for trying to get the best deal for himself is ridiculous.

I'm thrilled he's decided to stay but where'd this Leeds presumption come from ? I'd never heard this rumour?

This is a pointless and stupid question. To be fair, I ticked still an Albion hero as he had a great end to last season but would probably never have regarded him as that but still been a fan of his. Any player who doesn't look around, especially when they may get a better deal and closer to home, is daft. So he has definitely not gone down in my opinion and I am very glad he has signed. People may question Whing's ability but there is no way you could question his passion.

Just heard on grapevine that's who had expressed an interest. May be rubbish and I'm sure that many people will quickly tell me it is! Doesn't matter cos main thing is he is staying. Bloody brilliant!

I was impressed with Whingy when he was initially with the club on loan and particularly the way he made it known that he wanted to leave Coventry, a club in a higher division, to join us permanently...what I believe is more commonly known as saying "come and get me", I will never find fault in a player with that attitude, for me he epitomises everything that I want to see in an Albion player...the right attitude both on and off the pitch, not quite in the OGH mould, but not far off it.

We don't know the reasons for the delay, so what use would it be to judge him.

why would any sane person not try and get whats best for himself and his family? being loyal to a club as you play for them by giving 100% every time you play should show that he cares for the club, but to say he dosnt give a f*** about us and just the cash is bloody daft, imagine your being head hunted in your job, they offer you 5 grand more a year than you earn what do you do just leave ? no you would want to find out all about where you would be going ect ect,Whing hasnt got anything to prove to me,he did that on the pitch last season when all around him it was going tits up.

Im glad he is staying, but if he left for a better deal then i wouldnt hold that against the guy.
