the bastids did it there aswell 10 mins to go they were filing out and they couldn't blame it on the transport then.

How many idiots left early and missed Deano glorious freekick to take us into the playoffs at the end of the 1990/91 seasom. One particular moaning git left about two minutes before the end of 90 minutes shouting, useless albion sack the manager from the South stand to i can only imagine hear the roar as he walked up past the west stand - How me and my Dad laughed........

Personally I always stood on the top step by the exit to the North Stand. The moment the final whistle went I was out and off across Hove Park. Job done!

I remember that... My dad used to drag me out early so that he could get to the bookies to see if he had any winnings to collect.. I wanted to applaud the players off the field but instead had to stand outside the bookies and wait for him, lol.. Annoyed me at the time I have to say though!

Maybe this is the issue at the Amex everyone needs to get to the bookies

Didn't almost everyone leave with 15 minutes to go in a game against Hereford once? And then there was the match against Mansfield where no-one turned up until half-way throught the first half! Appalling.

I didn't go (midweek matches weren't allowed) but I remember it being an absolute pig of a night in Sussex. I'd been at friend's house, and got soaked on the short walk home. Got back in time to listen to the second half updates on Radio Brighton (as it was then). Every time they went over there was another goal (or two). Seems like a lifetime ago - and in many ways I suppose it is.

Back in the day, I was seen on many occasion's to be leaving The Goldstone early, on just about every occasion with at least one normally two police officer's escorting me :( The great thing about The Goldstone was you could always get back in again :) at the worst you waited till they unlocked the gates about 20 minutes before the final whistle...

The ONLY time I have left a game early was at the Withdean, Micky Adams first go at managing us. We let in a last minute winner to CHESTER, 2-3. I couldn't handle that, and got up to leave. I told my step-dad after the game (I was alone in my seat, despite being 12!) that I had left early and he clobbered me around the ear and said fans don't do that. I haven't left early since.

There was a game, against Notts County I think, some time in the 70s or 80s when we were 2-0 down at half-time and had played so badly that the team were not only booed off at the interval, they were also booed when they came back on for the second half! Haven't seen that before or since, but I wouldn't be surprised if a few people left at half time that day.

Have a mate who's a Villa fan who tells a great story about a match when they were playing Wimbledon. As it was such an unattractive fixture my friend decided to stay in the pub, enjoy an extra couple of pints and then walk up to the ground for the second half. As he was approaching the stadium at ten to four he bumped into his brother coming in the opposite direction, who simply said: "Don't waste your money, it's f***ing shite".

1981/1982 F.A. Cup 4th Round Sat 23 Jan Brighton & HA 0 - 3 Oxford Utd.

Left at half time for this game.. We were 0-3 down at H/t and we were a joke on that day... We were flying high in the top division and they were in the 4th division, I think.. I can't recall their strikers name (black fella) absolutely ran us ragged.. I was 12 and remember leaving embarrassed and with something better to do than watch that gash!
