Ive heard the question but cant remember the exact answer. In a game at Shrewsbury once the ball was fished out a few miles down the river by the main stand. There was another game where the ball landed on a freight train.

One of them, apparently a free kick at Walsall's ground landed in a coal train in the freight yard behind Walsall's ground. The ball made it all the way to York.

The question was what English club and Berwick are English even if they play in the Scottish league so that must be right.
Liverpool late seventies maybe 79 would be my guess
