I have only heard bits of the reverend and the makers album and it's very good indeed. Haven't heard any of the others but don't fancy either (I mean James Blunt for God's sakes) and if the knopfler album is like the Ragpickers Daughter then no thank you.
Personally I'd wait till next week when the new Springsteen album comes out but go for the Rev

Why don't you download them all and spend the change on beer??

I have read good reviews of the Mark Knopfler album. Whilst totally indifferent to Mr Blunt's music I admire his style. Educated, well connected, seen life (Army Captain who saw action in Serbia I believe) wealthy and beating off the tottie with a shitty stick allegedly.

Keep your money and borrow the old Q freebee cd I'm listening to at the moment. Currently Sandy Denny is warbling angellically through Who Knows Where the Time Goes. Before that was River Man by Nick Drake and I've still got Inheritance , Solid Air and Holes to go.

Sandy Denny was excellent on 'What We Did On Our Holidays', opening with the wonderful 'Fotheringay'.
Her stint with The Strawbs was very good too, and there's an album to prove it.

I recently acquired the first Fairport Convention LP, and that's great if you are a fan of folk-rock.

Why don't you just get 'The Best of Dad Rock' and be done with it Uncle S? Your obssession with shite mainstream films seems to translate nicely into your musical tastes.

I'd trade them all in for the new Foo Fighters album.
