a) Southampton haven't scored a goal in FIVE games
b) Southampton are in the bottom 3
c) Portsmouth are bottom of the league, despite more disgraceful spending
d) Liverpool are 5th from bottom

Poll to follow.

Its a pretty hard call, but had to plump for the 'no goals in FIVE games one', coming as it has, immediately after sacking the manager, following a 4-0 away win.

I f***ing LOVE that Nicola SCORCESE.

There is a thread on the Southampton board where one bloke is bemoaning spending £230 on match tickets for him and his son and hasn't seen his team score a goal yet. :lolol:

And you look a bit further down, to the utterly comical Hammond thread - it's basically 30 different ways of saying "Hammond is shite"

I've plumped for B, if you'd asked me before the season started I would have said C and D are quite likely to happen but Saints will be in the mix, makes it all the more amusing

the pompey one

i dont have a problem with southampton, and the fact that the greatest fans in the world at pompey who so loved their success are now getting their just deserts

i would bloody LOVE it if pompey came down and we went up to become the number one south coast team

I like that some Southampton fans are now going on about needing to spend big money in January, and that they need to get some decent loan signings in pronto.

For pure comedy value, I'd have a right ruddy chuckle if Liverpool slipped into the relegation zone.

Before my football yesterday, during our [gentle] warm-up, I was chatting to our 4 Saints fans, about Hammond. 2 votes for "quality", 2 x votes for "ineffectual".

Nothing changes.

Also, it could get funnier for Southampton because I think the two teams below them are playing this week, with Leyton Orient playing Brentford on Friday and Dagenham and Redbridge playing Exeter on Tuesday they could be BOTTOM come Friday night, and its not as if they've got an easy game on Saturday either being away to Sheffield Wednesday its not entriely out of the realms of reality that they could be ROOTED to the bottom half of Division 1 by the end of Saturday,

Pompey. Obviously. Southampton is very funny but lacks the delicious irony of PFC's sitch.

Whilst Soton and Pompeys plights are Hilarious, I have to say, seeing the 'mighty reds' in toying with the relegation zone makes me smile more.

Close call, but I've gone with the Saints in the bottom 3.

I find it funny that a club with delusions of grandeur who sack their manager because he's not "achieving their targets" has since dropped like a stone into the relegation zone.

Does anyone know whether the rumour Pardew was sacked for shagging Fonte's missus is true or not?

Either way, they need to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in, otherwise they'll struggle to get out of this division.

I went for Saints in the bottom 3.

I love it how, when the shit hits the fan, Hammond is always the scapegoat.

This. Made funnier by Cotterill's quote pre-season - "if I was manager last season, Pompey wouldn't have gone down". LOVE IT

Great poll, and a really difficult one to call. I am very happy with all 4 options, but although I am delighted at the prospect of Pompey playing Div 3 football next season, I have gone for Saints in the bottom 3. Just like Leeds the previous seasons, Saints fans thought they had a God given right to blitz the league this year. How funny it would be to see them leaving the division......the wrong way

Under normal circumstances I'd say pompey but seeing as they really deserve to be much worse of than bottom of the championship, it's just not funny enough. Instead I'm going for Southampton in the bottom three. That is genuinely amusing.
