I voted for Champion’s League because that would mean we were better over an entire season than two of the big six. We would keep our best players and so could potentially be as good if not better the following season. However on reflection an actual trophy would be amazing, so would now possibly vote for that, presumably both is out of the question!?

I know it's not a popular opinion and I can appreciate why a lot love it and I don't want to start that debate, but the FA cup has just never done it for me personally. Even the run to the semi's in 2019 just didn't excite me that much. I've grown up with stories from my Dad about 83 so can totally understand why a lot of fans would choose that though.

Personally I love European football, far more than English lower league and non league football and the thought of playing against the elite of Europe, not the Europa League teams, excites me massively. I love the Champions League.

FA cup. still matters, join a club of winners forever.

europe is nice but not really so significant. teams have gone to europe for having a good discipline record. 4th gets you into CL qualifiers, playing other not-anywhere-near-champions, may as well be in the Europa.

I don't really watch much European football and am not interested in one competition over another. However finishing 4th may mean we are no longer talked about so disrespectfully by many commentators. Winning a cup competition is less exciting because every team can put in a performance for a one off game but to compete in the league shows class

No, it doesn't -not anymore. It gets you straight into the group stages.

Win a trophy! it can never be taken away from you or forgotten. Also get European football. Also something our good friends up the road haven't done either yet. It would be a great one up manship win that would be as good an option as their as their relegation.

Nostradamus didn't do very well, did he?

I find it amazing that so many would swerve the Champions League opportunity which has to be the greatest club competition in the world.

(I'd better stop digging and take the FA Cup win)

I know it's all completely hypothetical but, for me, it would be the glory of WINNING something (very unlikely in the CL) and the hope that the success of doing that and also getting into Europe would propel the club further towards the CL at some point in the future (which goes along with the incremental improvements the club have had over the past few years.

For supporters of #TeamsLikeBrighton, I'd like to think they would take any European competition. Plus the CL is being expanded isn't it? Which means there'll be more mediocre (relatively speaking) clubs involved.

Over €2 billion in prize/coefficient/TV money in the CL.

Only €465 million available in the EL.

I know which one Tony would prefer, and I tend to agree.

Would be great to have some silverware to join the Sussex Senior Cup trophies in the cabinet so FA Cup win for me.

FA Cup all day long. Who remembers who came 4th after a year? I still remember the pain of '83, so near yet so far. Plus a lot more interesting and unusual places to visit in the Europa!!

Plenty of people remember "unusual" teams going to the Champions League, especially if they do something exciting while there. Beating Barca or Real in the CL... people would remember that.

While the FA Cup... I don't even know who won it last year.

Reasons why finishing 4th would be better....

1) We’d be able to keep our better players.
2) We’d be able to attract a better caliber of player.
3) Most English teams have a good chance of making it out of the group stage which equals big £££££. And even if we didn’t, we’d probably have the EL to fall back on anyway!
4) We’d have a better chance of winning a domestic cup with a stronger squad.
5) It would move the club up another level, potentially for years to come.
