Cisgender is a term used to describe a person whose gender identity corresponds to their sex assigned at birth. The word cisgender is the antonym of transgender. The prefix cis- is Latin and means on this side of. Wikipedia

Because everyone needs to be labelled and drawn into gender politics these days. Even if all they’ve done is be born happy with their gender.

I don't need to identify - I'm a man and always have been, ever since I was a boy.
Is that what it says on your passport?

You can’t chose your gender. You also can’t chose your age. Deal with it.
You can chose your gender, although most of us go with the flow (or someone else's, if we opt to be repressed).

You can't chose your biological sex.

What if you’re a man who doesn’t recognise the Cis-man label, I think was his point. Just a “man”. After all, this is how one labels themselves therefore no answer is incorrect. If you want to just be a “man” rather than a “cis-man” that’s our choice.
That's a bit like insisting that your ethnicity is English.

If I am following what your post means, if cis man is a gender then man is not. It needs a qualification and cannot stand alone as a gender.

Ditto 'English' is not an ethnicity. It's a nationality..

I respectfully disagree with your first paragraph.

Unless you mean “mankind”? In which case, I see your logic. I still disagree but it makes sense.

No idea. If I had one I expect it would say I'm British - but I already know that too.
I think its lovely that you know what you are.

But....do you though? ???

the trouble is, this is where it starts, gender is social construct, no one really minds or cares. then there are those that want to start altering rights, and bleeding across from gender to sex, because sex has been clearly marked out as a differentiator in legal and other spheres. then you have people saying they'd like to maintain same-sex spaces and some differences respected, then end up with a trans woman calling for those people to be punched in the face. the discussion here has been fairly sensible and mature compared to the wider social media and public places this is being debated.
Indeed. Albeit there has been al awful lot of mucking about.

What's the point of this thread, exactly? To get people arguing?
I think that because I haven't replied "oh goody, another poll" to any of the last 10 polls Mustafa has posted this week, he thinks he has carte blanche to post poll after poll.

Perhaps someone should post a poll to see what we think his most shit poll was?

I would say sexuality is different. I am comfortable normalising different sexualties with my kids . Their auntie is gay so they don’t know any different to the idea of same sex people being together.
Personally Idon’t see gender variations as directly comparable . Fair enough ,you make some good points to counter that.

I think that you've highlighted the core of the problem there.

I've said on this forum in the past that there is a lot to be said for marking the toilets as for being for 'people with a penis' and 'people without a penis', as that is nice and clear and not dependent on how people perceive themselves but how they actually physically are.

But what if your penis had been shot off in the war?
