Wouldn't agree that he was way too good for us - bit of a disappointment IMHO. To be fair though, for a distinctly average player, he had a bloody interesting career. Certainly got to see the world!
I would argue when we were at Withdean, any player of decent Championship quality or above was too good for us. We were constantly punching as a team, and on occasion with the odd individual.
CKR was a quality player. His quality was always there, but he clearly didn't respect the club. Suspect he only joined us as it was a great opportunity to build his profile as 'the coca cola kid' which, as it turned out, worked out really well for him.
He was easily a lower-Premier league quality player. Apart from the loanees like Sidwell & Ingimarsson, and of course a certain Mr Zamora, we didn't have many players of that quality at Withdean.
