Trevor Francis for me as well - lived in Brum when I was very young and my Dad's a Bluenose. Saw Francis make his debut - he must have been 16 or 17. Played up front with Bob Latchford with Gordon Taylor (PFA) on the wing.

I didn't play much football, but my hero was Peter Ward.

I have never aspired in my dreams to play for any other team than Brighton.

It isn't an argument to say there wasn't the draw of the Premiership back then.

All the kids at school seemed to support Liverpool, but my dad had the intelligence and hindsight to take me and my brother to the Goldstone.

There was never any sense of feeling jealous of the other teams success. For me and my brother it was Brighton, and it was the Bukta strip that we wore for football lessons.

Lee Sharpe i'm afraid

His autobiography is getting some good reviews - saw a few of the serialisation extracts - looks worth reading as an alternative to the usual anodyne 'life stories'.

I always wanted to be either Rivalino or Charlton but ended up being Carlos alberto .... because my first name is Carlos.
