Will there be offers.......that we cannot refuse ?
I'm sure Mr Bloom will be pleased you've decided to help out financially
Will there be offers.......that we cannot refuse ?
Think I read somewhere that Montoya is one of our top earners. If true, he should be shipped out and those wages used to get a quality 6 foot plus striker.
Other than Glenn, our frontline options are all shorties.
Recently, when he starts he often plays as wing back.
When he comes on as sub it's often as an attacker.
It isn't that he is inconsistent, just that he regularly plays completely different roles.
This has probably hindered his development as an out and out attacking force, but he has massively improved as a defender.

Personally, I'm confused why so many people want to get rid of Andrew Crofts - he wasn't brought in to be a first team player, he was brought in for our under 23s (21s?).
Provided we stay up there are four players that I'm intrigued by how they'll fit in to Potter's plans next year: Duffy, Bernardo, Gross, Ali J.
I think they all have something to offer but I'm not sure where they fit.
Duffy is currently third choice centre back. Assuming Ben White joins the squad next season and makes the step up as comfortably as he has the transition from U-18's to U-23's to league 2 to league 1 to the championship you've got to think Duffy will be fourth choice. I reckon Potter will be happy with him in the squad but will Duffy be happy with that? Probably not and as one of the few players who will be able to generate a decent price and our need for money post covid it seems a real possibility his time with us is nearly up. Which makes me sad - him and Dunk were/are hands down the best central defensive partnership I've seen in the 30+ years I've been watching the Albion.
Bernardo. This one really puzzles me. He's the only left back in the squad, seemingly has the attributes Potter would want in a left back but has lost, well, never even had, his place to a 6 foot 7 centre half. He's not even made the bench in the last two games - and that's with nine men benches. In his place Potter has chosen two right backs. So, what's up? If he can't get in the team over a centre half and can't even make a nine man bench, when does he make the squad? Does his face not fit? Can he not comprehend what Potter asks of him? I wouldn't get rid of him but I just don't get why he's not anywhere near playing.
Gross was outstanding as the number ten when we played 4-4-1-1 in our first season. His delivery remains immaculate but when he gets moved out of that position he strikes me as a bit of a premier league Skalak. We now have Mooy and MacAllister who can do what he does and maybe more. We have a number of players who can play as number 10, we have several wingers and a glut of central midfielders with Molumby and Baluta waiting in the wings. He's a good player but I'm not sure where he fits in anymore.
Potter seems reluctant to give Ali J game time unless there's no one else available. He seems like a really nice guy, a great professional with obvious talent but for two seasons and with two different managers with two completely different styles of play he's barely had a kick. Even when he grabbed his chance over xmas/the new year with two goals(including the goal of the season) he's found himself at the back of the queue. I don't see whats going to change in year three so for his sake we should cut our losses and let him get on with his career and not waste it in the stands of a lower end premier league team.
Just to add, of those three forwards you mention, one is actually a right back, and the other a versatile midfielder.
I don't mean to seem like I was picking on you, I was just explaining where I copied the list from - so if any players were missing I had a ready made excuse. I removed any of the players anyone on the thread suggested should be sold/loaned.
Agree for the most part, except...
Sell Duffy and bring in one of Clarke or Ostigard. Duffy won’t want another season on the bench.
Keep Montoya. He is good backup at RB, Alzate is not really a right back.
Keep Propper. Obviously. No need then for a new CM unless we can find a significant upgrade.
Buy a striker. Murray will surely be scarcely used next season and moving more towards coaching.
Is that a certain Mr. Andone i see being retained?
I’ve never been Propper’s biggest fan and I think probably because I’ve misunderstood him. People say he’s role is understated but I’ve always thought that doesn’t really explain the value of his game. What I’ve come to appreciate about his game, is that I think he’s excellent at shaping the way we play, I think he underpins our ability as a team to move the ball and how we move it.
I think the Leicester game was a good example. When the team were tiring in the second half, we’d started resorting to more direct passes over the top. And Leicester were definitely getting on top of us at that point. When Propper came on, his movement and support in midfield allowed the team to start moving the ball much better. Instead of direct balls, we could start holding the ball up and playing into Leicester’s half without giving away possession. All of sudden instead of giving the ball away and Leicester breaking against us (one of their strengths), we were able to keep the ball away from them and make them chase us. It definitely shifted momentum back towards us.
I think the reason we haven’t seen the best of Propper yet is because we need a better number 10. It’s all well and good moving the ball around, but as we’ve all seen, it’s no good if you haven’t got an end product. That needs to be provided though a link from midfield to attack. Which is my opinion our weakest area. Instead of spending a lot of money in the summer on a striker, I think we should spend large on getting a creative number 10.
He’s only 2 years into a 4 year contract, isn’t he? Can’t just stop paying him.
What’s interesting here is the “Offer” ones.
Cox presumably has been offered an extension so that we can get a fee from Sittard?
Sanders maybe is stalling on signing an extension because he sees too many people between him and the first team?
Amongst the youthers, Vukoje is particularly promising, so I hope we don’t lose him.
Ahem...
Not my fault, Guv'nor!
OK, I'll bite. Share us your thoughts on Vukoje, please.
