Sainsbury's used to let you turn the voucher into cash at any checkout, but now you have to queue up at the customer service desk to do it. Be warned: If it's over £50 they have to get it authorised by a supervisor, which normally adds another few minutes wait while they try and find one. If I have a shedload of change, I tend to tip in just over £40 or £45, print a voucher, then another £40/£45, print a voucher, etc. Somehow having loads of vouchers for £45.11 is fine, whereas having just one for £50.01 triggers all kinds of security measures. I can never remember if the commission is 7.9p in the pound or 8.9p, but it's one of those. Also, the machines reject the majority of pound coins. This is actually a really useful 'feature' at it helps you separate out the quids back into your pocket without losing the commission on them.
