What about as a pet? I wouldn't mind a month's holiday in a caged pile of soot, a single bottle of anaesthetised water poking through one drilled hole for me to suck on. Somewhere in the hefty keg of still-smoking amber at the bottom of my home will be a prepared Ready Meal, something Italian in origin i hope, for me to dig to in order to remain silent and uncomplaining. Put a wheel in there to keep me fit and purposed too, and maybe a magazine i'll use late at night. And a bucket for obvious reasons. You can walk me in the evening while the wife cleans my mess and refreshes the meaning of my keep.
