eBay is your answer. Typing this on a very usable early Macbook picked up for around £250. And there are much more recent models including the Pro and the Air going for £300-£500. Just check feedback carefully and pay via PayPal so you've got comeback on the rare occasion things go wrong.

mac laptops are the mercs/bmws of the laptop market they are generally built too last all bit it at a lower spec than a windows laptop for the same price. Much rather have a 5 year old merc than a new ford.

Did you find a 2nd hand Mac laptop within your budget?

I've got a 12 month old Macbook Pro with fast Core2Duo, 4GB RAM, dual-booting Windows 7 Ultimate & Snow Leopard (which will be upgraded to Lion in the next week when it's released) in perfect condition.

I'm planning to put it on ebay as they seem to be going for approx £600-£700 for this spec, but if you or anyone else is interested, let me know.

Which size model is it? 17 inch?

I am looking to upgrade my 2007 Macbook Pro and your machine tempts me

It's the 13.3" screen model.

Also, the battery lasts ages and I've just given it a thorough service plus cleaned the internal heatsink/fan all ready for sale as soon as Lion O/S is released any day now. punk:

Both Windows 7 Ultimate & Mac O/S Lion will be clean installs ensuring performance is at its maximum from the word go.
