Wouldnt you do better to take them to a decent pub that doesnt stink of disinfectant splashed around the toilets.

The Battle of Trafalgar is a far better pub with decent beer and I am sure there must be many more in Brighton far better in every respect than the Evening Star that I am unaware of.

Went in the Battle the other night. Dreadful beer, slow as f... staff. Evening Star any day of the week.

have some foreign types over for xmas
they are of the Argie variety, and can be a difficult bunch
I asked "do you want to do anything specific on this trip"
she just said take us to places you are proud to say "this is Britain,"

apart from the pub where would you go?distance is not problem

Sing Lee. Or on a serious note: a boat trip along the Thames from Central out to Hampton Court, a few miles but 1000's of years of British History, then the train back to Brighton.

For brighton, i'd show them the north laine. It's what makes the town a bit different from others.

For culture, although not strictly british, the british museum is excellent. It houses many of the world's artifacts.

The rolling hills of the South downs always makes me feel of home, looking across the patchwork fields.
I think that's typically southern english, chalk habitats are fairly unusual.

If distance really isn't an issue, I'd take them to Patagonia. Some stunning views and wildlife and it has the added benefit of a lot of Welsh history.
