Where is the best place to watch Airbourne apart from Eastbourne town centre?

There is a sloping field Eastbourne side of Beachy Head . £5 to park all day , and they have toilet facilites and a burger wagon too i think .

Great view from there and the occasional aircraft will circle right above you.

Word of warning Sat and Sunday the Red Arrows are on early somewhen between 12 and 1 i am told .

And its awesome seeing the planes bank round the cliff too.

Some excellent photo opportunities, but the last two days have been very cloudy and the red arrows abandonded their display after 2nd flypast due to cloudy conditions !!

My sister lives in Birling Gap. The National Trust has taken over the cafe there and there is parking (not sure how expensive it is now).

Whether or not, you can see much of the airshow, I do not know, but a lovely place to take the family.

Beachy head is good , however its reasonably far from the display line. I would recommend either the pier or beach as the best views and you can always check on the attractions on the Eastbourne lawns and pier. Hope this helps :)

Beachy Head or Holywell (right next to the head, closest to the seafront) is the better viewing spot. If its cloudy and raining then just dont bother, they will more than likely abandon, which of course would be a shame.

West end of the seafront there's a hill. At least halfway up that is a good spot. You'll not get parked though.

Shoreham Airport a good place as many of the planes will be using this as a base for the weekend you can get right up close and they have a bar which last time I was in there sold Harveys

As said above, this is the best place by far, easy to park and every plane comes past here on the way to Eastbourne.
The Red Arrows display is awesome from here and when they split formation last year, one peeled off and flew over our heads about 50 feet above us, you could see the pilot clearly, got some brilliant pictures from up there.
Only problem is if there is low cloud cover, they tend to cancel the Arrows if visability is poor.
Check the weather, Sunday may be better viewing day and the firework display off the end of the pier is superb on Sunday evening.
If you want to go round the stalls and displays on the Western Lawns, there is a Park and Ride.

A few years ago I watched it from Normans Bay - easy to park and good views of Eastbourne and the action to the west.
