I think at the moment a lot will be thinking "should pick up three points there", and have misunderstood the fundamental shift that has happened here. We can now fully expect to compete week in, week out with all but the very top sides in the Prem. Amazing change that we've all seen, but not sure the penny has dropped with other teams yet.

I think it’s a fair point by Dwayne that the “first quarter” (ish) fixtures seem more winnable than the second quarter on first glance.

Which is why getting 15 points by now was probably the minimum but we’ve got them.

To answer the question, there is no reason why our bad run against Bournemouth should continue, and Palace, Sheff Utd and Wolves are all winnable. With some battling points against the big teams there is a realistic prospect of matching Chris Hughton’s 25 points or so by Xmas/New Year. Then not do the second half of the season collapse as last season, and job done.

Will still be very tough and I think most people realise this, despite the pro-Potter bravado. I think Potter can still improve in finding better and more reliable combinations on the pitch than in his introductory period as Albion manager and that potential could get our pulses racing

Wow did we really get to 25 points by the beginning of new year last year ?! Just shows how comfortable we were first half of the season a year ago and how hughton was even more effective at picking up points than potter for that period.

Let's hope potter can keep the upward trajectory.

I know what you’re saying and would have agreed last season but we’re a completely different prospect now and all but the Liverpool game look potentially winnable to me.

I’m going to say something controversial in that I think Leicester are over rated. The Southampton game aside, they have been a bit lucky at times this season with things like VAR decisions and massively out performed their XG.

Man Utd and Arsenal are average sides these days and very beatable too so there is no way we should be afraid of those games.

Then matches against the likes of Wolves, Bournemouth, Palace, Everton, Sheff Utd, Villa and home to Chelsea could also easily go our way.

I genuinely think Tony’s top 10 vision could be realised this season, we’re good.

Should be interesting but I think this run of games shows how easy (relatively) the start of season has been for us. I notice on the tracker that we are not due for many points in this period.

Bring it on.......but maybe savour where we are now because I fear there may be trouble ahead in the near future.

Exactly this. We've looked competitive in every game so far, it is a tough run but this team will definitely pick up points. I just can't see us going on a long losing streak.

Really, is your memory of those matches so rose coloured? We had a bunch of lucky wins, we had games go our way against the run of play and after Christmas our luck ran out and we started to get the results we deserved. Compare that to this season even the Everton game we won through a little luck but also through a bloody gutsy fight back and a refusal to accept a draw. All the other games we have won were thoroughly deserved and the draws we had the run of play. Thanks Hughton but I for one an so pleased he got the boot and we now have GP.

I can agree with this. I doubt we can get points against Liverpool. But the OP is asking specifically about winning. 5 zip against Bournemouth is a thing of the past so the "we always lose to them" is meaningless, as to the rest they are all hard, but we have the ability to win. Mind you chances will be thin on the ground. GP, although he didn't really go into it appeared pissed that we only won 2-0, as he said when he was asked " That must have been a very satisfactory afternoon for you" replied "well its pleasing to get three points,and keeping a clean sheet" If we miss the chances that do come our way then we will be in trouble as I doubt we will get as many as we did yesterday.

In our first season in the Premier League, 2017-18, we were also in 8th place on 15 points after our first 11 fixtures, having beaten Swansea away on 4th November.

We didn't win again until 23rd December - a 1-0 home win over Watford. Heading into that game, we'd dropped into 13th place.

We then went win-less until 3rd February, meaning we'd picked up one win in our preceding 14 fixtures.

I did watch it and they ran out of ideas after 30 mins too and now Young’s out they have absolutely no leaders on the pitch we just need to sit in for the initial few mins then we will get them on the counter. I’ve not been more confident about winning a game away against a big team than now

Lets hope you are right. One thing for sure, how good is it that we are playing this well. Notice that even though I am a bit more cautious than you I have not disagreed that we can win at Old Trafford, good times ahead I think.
