We were so far below them in every aspect for about 20 years that the modern-day rivalry didn’t really start until 2011 when we on an equal footing again. Zaha and his annoying habit of scoring against us have been a big part of the rivalry ever since.
Well I see what you are saying but it makes no sense when you account for McShane and our exploits up there in 2005 (?)

I don't think so the rivalry just simmered away, with Palace laughing at us and enjoying our pain, then once we were actual opponents again the panto had a voice

It's all become for Chelsea fans about beating Pool to the purchase. They've all forgotten whether or not they're getting value for money and can actually integrate all their new hires into a team!

All true but it still pisses me off that they can cause us so much disruption, and we are very lucky that it didn’t derail us. Taking Caicedo might though…

I have been here since the Venables/Mullery days but I have to confess to struggling to keep up the hate recently. It’s all Panto to me now
Caicedo is leaving because he’s an excellent player and he has overactive agents.
Chelsea are making it as painless as it could be by overpaying.
That club is a classic case of a fool and their money.
Whereas we are stronger than ever.

The jury is out on your last point, we have sold the engine room. Keeping the faith though

It made me chuckle...but surely Liverpool wouldn't know that detail?
2 weeks ago the same rumour muppets said Chelsea couldn't pay £100m because it would mean them breaking FFP. It's BS. It also makes no difference how Liverpool structured the deal, Chelsea wouldn't have to do the same.

Also, for those thinking the money arrives to Brighton in drips and drabs - FFP doesn't work like that. It's not relevant when we get paid - the cost gets amortised (for Chelsea) over 5 years (or less if the contract is less).

There’s now an Ecuadorean journo saying Brighton have got nowhere with Chelsea and it’s over in favour of Liverpool - could well be bullshit but would be fitting if there was one last mad twist to end this bizarrest of soap operas

I’d find it incredibly funny if Tony Bloom has told an Ecuadorian journalist that exact quote. “Todd Boehly is All Talk, No Money”
