All these major Brighton fans would all absolutely take the money as well mate. I'd be out of the kitchen so fast my wife would still be spinning when I arrived at my 8 star Saudi Hotel complex.
I think even I who detests summer as the height of misery (Cheerful, i know) would take the money and spend a year in that horrible, hot, hot place. I could then retire to snowier climes and live as happily as my disposition could allow.

PIF currently has $700 billion in assets which is already hugely diversified across global markets……….there’s no chance of them running out of money any time soon - Aramco (worth an estimated $2 trillion) announced record profits last year of $161 billion - and they pay 50% tax to the Saudi Government.
Yep, they're not short of a few quid...

I wonder if Tony is still incredibly angry with Caicedo’s agents?

I’ve heard multiple agents can get a cut of a transfer deal. I imagine the kyunt brothers who represent our boy are in bed with Chelsea, just like they were in bed with Arsenal and are not only after a cut if Moisés’ new salary but ALSO the £80m+ fee. At the same time, they are feeding another pair of bean spilling twunts, Jacobs and Romano all the details. I’m not convinced that this is making our Tony happy?

My guess is Tony will cut the agents out of any deal now, they’ll be different agents doing the main deal with the mystery club and the bean spilling kyunt brothers will not get a penny of the transfer fee. That’s why they know **** all about the other interested clubs who have worked out how to deal with Tony. Professionally and respectfully.

Maybe we should all be giving the Just Stop Oil guys a little more support........

2. Caicedo is achieving the dream of SO many young people by playing in the PL. He is an abslute icon, regarded by everyone that would like to be in his place. Yet, because of the marketing and press attention that the Big 6 get, going to Chelsea (wich I personally think is terrible idea) would be regarded as major step-up. He feels he needs to achieve this goal in the name of those who cannot.
3. Therefore, even if he feels grateful to Brigton (as he have stated) other factors are playing in his decision making: the pressure from media, his agents, even Independiente del Valle, and just regular people in Ecuador that wants a local playing for a major brand like Chelsea.

Great post.

Some fans on here are still in denial about the 'big six', saying that there's no such thing as a 'superclub', that they're just clubs with more money etc etc.

It's why I posted the Facebook follower counts the other day. It might seem insignificant in the scheme of things, but it shows the reach and influence of the global superbrands.

The likes of Man Utd, Chelsea and even f**king Spurs really are in a league of their own.

I think Champions League has been the main driver. Kids around the world have been growing up watching the same handful of English teams virtually every season.

That would be ridiculous imo - I don’t care about Eurovision(although I still don’t get how Oz are in it). If the Saudis are just able to effectively buy into the European Champions League, then it isn’t the ECL any more!
It stopped being a European Champions Cup, when UEFA started to let up to 4th place qualify to mollify the rich clubs who didn't win leagues.
I always found it ironic that when only League Champions qualified it was known as the European Cup,but when any old Tom,Dick or Harry could qualify it became the Champions League.

I'm a bit lost with this one now.

Are there 2 new bidders now?
A PL club and a Saudi club?

Hope so although I’m confused too. It would be good to flush out PSG and one of the big Spanish clubs also and get the bidding war really heated up.
