To be honest Colwill has a long way to go in his development, great on the ball but more work required defensively IMO. Think if things go pear shaped, he’ll fall out of favour.

Would take £90m plus add-ons. Caicedo is way ahead of Rice, but not English.

Edit - reading The Athletic, apparently Colwill in talks with Chelsea around future.
We are aware that Colwill isn't the finished product and his game still needs work, but we see the obvious potential so are desperate to keep him. He has no chance of leaving, at least not this window.

As for Caicedo's price, we will probably offer 80m + 10m in bonuses. If Brighton don't accept, we will walk away. 90m is pushing it and we won't go above that price.

P.S. Rice is currently clearly the better player

Yeah….as he proved when he bossed the midfield when West Ham got battered at the Amex

West Ham captain Declan Rice conceded it felt "demoralising" to have been "played off the pitch" by Brighton in their 4-0 defeat on Saturday……..

The Hammers failed to muster a shot on goal in the second half as once the Seagulls hit the front, there was no response from the visitors.

Even at 3-0 up, Brighton created a hatful of chances with substitute Facundo Buonanotte hitting the crossbar and eventually Danny Welbeck grabbed the fourth with a fantastic finish from the edge of the box as West Ham chased shadows.

Rice conceded: "We were beaten by a better team. Brighton played us off the pitch and made life difficult. But that wasn't a performance that was acceptable. Days like today you have to apologise to the fans as we've let the fans and the club down. I'm hurting. The lads are hurting. We thought we'd turned a corner as we've been playing better, winning 4-0 and then playing well in the cup. But this is a setback.

Just because a team may be better than another team, it doesn't mean that every single player on that team is better than their counterpart, you know that, right?

Yep and replaced him with your former.DOF
Brighton & Hove Albion have never had a Director of Football.

Paul Winstanley, if that's who you are talking about, was our Head of Recruitment.

It seems that lack of attention to detail runs pretty deep at Chelsea.
