Its a shame that:

1)we've lost a fantastic player

2) He's gone to Chelsea, an absolute joke of a club.

However, what a ridiculous fee. If invested wisely - and the evidence of the last few years suggests it will be - we can set ourselves up as a very good team for the next couple of years.

I'm excited to see who we bring in.

Here's the truth:

Caicedo is a rather childlike kid from a poor background

He is motivated by money and prestige;

He has the opportunity to be a 'great' in his own country where they likely have a large Chelsea fan base, and far more modest interest in the Albion

He has several clever, self interested handlers

Right now all his dreams have been realised.

We know that he has no lasting interest in the Albion and we should thank him for his past service and the fortune he has generated for the club.

Then, like RDZ we should forget him, just as he has forgotten us....

All this sadly reminds me of the Pat Cash intro for the Becker doc.

Something on the lines of 'so much, so quickly, so young, what could POSSIBLY go wrong?'
