Oh yeaherr...
If LIVERPOOL have supposedly met this 'release mechanism', then it is definitely NOT a Champions League Clause...

I have a bit of OCD but even I can see that rounding to the nearest £100,000 isn't 'strange'!Such a strange amount. it is €80m, but why would 2 British clubs arrange a fee in Euros.
I think the question is why are two British clubs dealing in Euros and not GBP. I expect that the answer is something to do with strength and stability of currency.I have a bit of OCD but even I can see that rounding to the nearest £100,000 isn't 'strange'!
That's what happens when you negotiate a price - the difference between your revised offers gets smaller and smaller and usually ends with you splitting the difference.
There isn't one, Barber as quoted.Obviously your right, but Romano it is a monetary exit clause, when he does not know that, the exit clause would I imagine a Champions League clause.
Well that's that thenJust seen on facebook
The clubs agree terms with the agents rather than the players. That's the way around it.
The new oracleWell that's that then
I know I'm probably being a bit naïve here, but when did we get to a point where clubs agree personal terms without permission to talk with a player by their current club?

Actually agents regularly will agree terms with a club without running it past the player. From the outset the agent will advise and agree with the player what they should expect terms wise and they will go out and try and get it from a club and tell the player after. You’d be surprised how little some players get involved in the process at all.I don't think that's really a way around it. Obviously the agent can't agree terms without running those terms past the player, so while the club and agent can pretend that the player isn't involved, everyone knows that's a lie, and the truth is that they're still breaking the rules.
I suspect it's more a case that it's not worth it for the wronged club to try and prosecute, because where's the proof?

Sure, that could be true. But it's still against the rules. It’s also in both club’s interest for this agreeing personal terms before bids are accepted to be allowed to go on. ALL clubs do it and it saves a lot of wasted time and effort making bids for/pursuing players/agents who are not interested of realistic
I thought he had tweeted that about 3 months ago.I’m sure Fibs has already tweeted a few days ago that it’s a done deal as far as player/agent and LFC are concerned.
His first tweet to that effect was on 5th May! He’ll be right eventually, quote tweet himself and his Twitter fans will wank themselves into a frenzy over his level of ITK.I thought he had tweeted that about 3 months ago.
