Where do you think we'll finish next season?

It's a strange division so anything is possible. I don't think there is alot between the teams.

The strangest part of next season for me will be that we will be competing on a level playing field and not battling with the inferiority complex that Withdean gave us in that division last time.

For me. Top half, pushing for the PO's

I'm buoyed by the QPR fan who came on here having watched us a few times this season and believing we're well set up for Championship football.

I just don't want people to get over excited. Yes we've had a superb season and yes we've got a brilliant new stadium to move into but do you seriously think we'll have the budget to compete with premier league clubs who get huge parachute payments and clubs a la Leeds, Forest etc. Just saying, bit of perspective required...

leicester last season and norwich, the leeds united and even millwall this year are having a good go at a play-off spot. throw in the feel good factor that the new stadium will produce, hopefully we settle in quickly and tony bloom giving a decent wedge to poyet to spend (which if this hoskins business is anything to go by, he will) and i dont think a play off spot is beyond the realms of possibility

id just be happy for us to stay up though to be honest!

Agree with all of this. I just think we'll need to try and cement a championship place for a couple of seasons and improve our squad before we could be in with a shout of a top 6 finish. Just my opnion though...

Have we got the highest budget in league 1? Its about the quality that is already here and who gets added. Gus in a winner and will not want a struggle against relegation. There is no reason we can not have a real attempt at the play offs with the momentum gained this season

I know they were cup games but we didn't struggle against Pompey or Watford, in fact we looked comfortable (and with a couple of reserve players on the field)
Seeing how Norwich, Leeds and Millwall have coped, I think with 5 or 6 decent additions we could be in the top half of the table.

When a manager says he needs 7 players you don't know if he means it;

Is it just a kick up the arse of existing players?
Does it just mean contract negotiations - don't blackmail the club?
Is it a plea to manage fan expectations?
A plea to board for some dosh?
Haven't I done well with these players - pay me more money?

etc etc..

I think we will be challenging for automatic promotion - Gus is fantastic and if he can turn
El Abd into the player he's become, anything is possible

According to some recent stats we are around 5th/6th. Remember we sold/released a HUGE number of players at the start of the season, we've barely spent much this season when you take those into account.

One of the highest I think (if the BBC is to be believed)? Plus budget becomes more of an issue in the championship because some teams can afford to buy international quality players etc, anyway we'll see...

12th for me - perhaps a sluggish start encouraging some of the of the usual cockknockers to start squawking. I expect to hear the first 'Poyet Out' in late November when a 1-3 defeat at home to Barnsley leaves us 3 points clear of the last relegation place.

A couple of new faces as well as the return from injuries (i cant believe we will be so lucky next year on that front) mean that we end the year with play-off form and finish a very comfortable mid-table.
