I find Rolex, and most wearers of them, to be terribly vulgar.

I have 6 various Omegas. All beautifully crafted. All understated.

I'd agree with you on any Rolex with gold parts, or the larger sub mariners. But some of the classic simple versions can be quite understated. (Guess what watch I have ).

Not at all, Nibble. Have never 'shown off' a watch in my life. They're chosen for me, not for anyone else's benefit.

[Well apart from my wife, Dad, Mum, Father-in-law, Brother, and brother-in-law, each of whom I have bought watches for as presents]*

*I suppose I should add at this point that I work for the parent company of Omega / Rado / Tissot / Swatch / Longines watches, and have built up my collection at something like 20% of retail :jester:

The following can be good in picking up some amazing bargains.

Once I picked up 3 top quality suits, bin bags of jeans, shirts, trousers, all top names and/or quality for £300. I needed a taxi to take it home.

I would say that I buy the vast majority of my stuff on Ebay.

What do you think?

must jump if you need 6:drink:

Actually my Dad's brother gave him a good fake, he only had it on his wrist a few weeks, before 3 girls tried to mug him. He was about 70 at the time, didn't believe in hitting women etc, but gave one of them a good punch, which sent her running. And held the other two until Plod arrived.

Doesn't Anton Ferdinand have a nice watch? I got a bit of a look at it the other day, but then he went mad when he saw me glancing at it and I had to run away from him and his mates.

The watches are all quite different. A dress one for black tie, a Speedmaster chrono with a black leather strap for smart, a Seamaster chrono on a blue crocodile strap for every day, a Speedmaster chrono on a steel bracelet if its likely to get wet, etc, etc..

What's a good fake? If you want a £1600 watch, buy one and enjoy it. If you've only got £50 to spend, buy a decent Swatch Irony. Fakes are pointless - you can't kid yourself.

Am I alone in thinking Gap is mediocrity incarnate? It's been a while, but last time I was in one it was wall to wall greys, browns, beiges and creams and everything was aimed at the prematurely middleaged of the 25-35 bracket. God awful characterless shitehole of a shop.

Nowt wrong with my Seiko Chronograph. Went shoe shopping and found a nice watch, not very practical to wear on your feet though.

Oh, and for clothes shopping it is mostly Next, as not many places make trousers the right length/waist combination for me. Shoes come from wherever I see a nice pair that fit.

Oh, how I wish I was a 36R/size 8 at times.

Correct. Plus there record of exploitation isn't fantastic.

I don't mind gap for basic stuff but as you say can be very middle aged which is ironic as it is children who make their clothes.

Funny enough I have around 5 or so watches hanging around, a 21st, a swatch but treated myself last year to a Rado.##:D
