I saw a thread/post about The Game Bird in Horley being the favoured watering hole of trolley dollies at weekends and was wondering if anyone knew where they all might congregate now?

Myself and some pals might have to whizz up there for a little look about

Definitely the Six Bells at Horley, loads of them there every night. I should know, I used to work just over the road.

Mind you, that was 1973. May have changed now of course.

And 38 years ago it was called The Thorns - I had my 21st birthday do there! It was very basic then and there were rumours of a lady upstairs called Edna who would 'do a turn' for a very small fee!

Gatwick was a geat place to work then - small airport, everyone knew everyone and the social life was amazing! On a Friday and Saturday night it wasn't a case of "Is there a party?" It was "Which party shall we go to first?"!

TWA ceased trading about 10 years ago - which gives an idea how old that joke is.

As a former resident it used to be the 6 Bells but probably not now. I don't think many went into the Game Bird as it was near the small council estate and thus full of under age chavs. You're more likely to find them in a Crawley or outer edge pub.

When I worked at Gatwick 6 years ago it was definitely the Hells Bells in Horley for top airline totty - the Shipley Bridge Inn was another good bet.
