Not an outer but definitely of the opinion Gus won't get us promoted, lets see if he sticks with the attacking winning team last night or if he goes back to the tepid defensive football of norm (really hope he doesn't).

Gus will be judged on if he gets us in the play offs. We seem to play well in the 'bigger games' Arsenal, Newcastle, Palace its the games were we are favourites we struggle (see Bristol, Barnsley, Sheff Wed etc). i still think Gus can take us forward but only IF he learns from his mistakes (which at the moment he doesnt seem to) ie... moving the ball faster, a plan B, not playing with 1 winger and 1 striker then looking complexed when we havent had a shot... so as for where are the outers.. simple.. we won yesterday and played alright (palace were awful which helped) but 1 result doesnt make you a great or the right manager to take a club forward

It's all very well some of us moaning at Gus for not playing with two wingers all the time, but it does rely on a few things coming together.

a) KLL's form. KLL either has the beating of his full back or he doesn't. Too many times he's been worked out early on and just goes missing. Yesterday however he was unplayable, and his tackling/tracking back first class.
b) Ulloa's availability. He's the main man who profits from quality service, on the ground or in the air. It occurred to me, Poyet will need to wrap him in cotton wool where possible. So if we are 2 or 3 up at half time against, say, Charlton, please take him off Gus and switch from two wingers to a more defensive set up.
c) Our ability to field a first choice back 4. You wouldn't choose to set up too attack minded if you're relying on Calderon and Painter at full back. I think Holloway ****ed up by not targeting Calderon more than he did.

I still think Gus played two wingers yesterday only because his hand was forced.

He must have lay in bed last night thinking "Why haven't I thought of playing two wingers and attacking at home before".
Well done Gus Poyet for picking a team to win at home, please, please, please do it again! :bowdown:

Why did I know that the date you joined an internet forum is more important to you that getting behind the team:tosser:

I was getting behind my team the last time we beat Palace at the Goldstone .In fact i was there,,,,just because people have different opinions doesn't make them any less suppoters..And if you think it does then it you that is a ******..Its easier to follow the crowd than go your own way isn't it?

All gone very quiet as Gus set up the side to win and it was simply brilliant

:albion2::albion2::albion2:
I swear some people on here would be happy for Albion to go back to crowds of 5k so they can prove they are REAL seagulls ....the "jcl" tag is a symptom of this pathetic self flagellating attitude .Imagine only 12k at the amex it would be all "why dont people support their local club blah blah blah" the defeated before we play posts on here before sun were a ****ing embarassment.:bhasign:

Do you spout your Anti Gus bile at the match? Try it in the WSU and you'll find yourself in the WSL by the quickest route.

Good post.

Playing 2 wingers won't work against every team as not every team sets themselves up in the same way as Palace (a fact that the flabby-brained flappy-mouthed Gus boo boys can't comprehend).

Well, it could and should have worked in our last 3 away games, but Gus chose to throw some very possible points away. Take that Gus' licker!
