How do you know they're Albion fans? Could be anyone in blue and white.
I'm the youngster in the fetching blue ski jacket on the right (leaning against the crush barrier).
Call me Poirot but the hats and scarves with albion seagulls and writing on would be a bit of a clue.
Those ski hats ROCKED!
Just out of interest, what were the trains like in them days? How long did it take, etc etc..
The one picking his Nose and with the fetching man bag ! way ahead of your time there papa
Im otta site at the back, 21 year old psychobilly with a quiff aaaaaaahhhhhhh those were the days.
Don't know about the 1980s and 1990s cos I played on Saturdays but The Seagull Special trains in the late 70s were 'interesting'. I can remember trips to Blackburn, Oldham, Notts County, Wrexham and Hull among others.
Thats back in the day when blackburn were lucky to get 5000 in ewok park ! and it was a dangerous walk if i recall in Oldham through some kinda walled in walkway where the local northern monkeys would throw bricks etc over ? Or am i wrong ?
There seems to be some confusion about which one is me. I'm the bloke with black hair and a bright blue ski jacket leaning against the square crash barrier on the far right of the photo half way up, not the blonde/ginger lad at the front.
Spot ON
Blackburn was a walk of death as well as I recall. The police horses couldn't/didn't want to stop the local youths lobbing their northern wasteland bricks at us as we walked to Ewood Park. I remember a game when Eric Potts scored for us with a minute or so to go that sparked off some local unrest!
Wish I was born in these days.
Then you would have ACTUALLY SEEN us destroy Spurs, instead of hearing about it from a load of old bastards.
boro was always shady as hell. you had to keep ya mouth shut after the game otherwise you werent getting home
