92/93. Beat Portsmouth 1-0 in 3rd round, lost 1-0 away at United in the 4th.

So getting to the 4th round would actually be quite an achievement given our record over recent years then. And we have a real chance this time.

Yeah, me to - shocking record but befitting the years in terms of dark times of thr club I suppose. Some nightmare games and results, was it Canvey Island that beat us one year, there was another one just as bad, Kingstonian was it?

Lets not forget Sudbury. The away leg was at a ground no better than a county league ground.

Sudbury, that was it. Lost on penalties, down the south stand end, remember watching them all bundle each other which was weird to be pissed off about because normally its fun to watch a non-league side celebrate victory over a league team

But even since then we've gone straight into 3rd round draw 3 times. And made it through several other times. Off top of my head we've lost in round 3 to spurs, west ham, preston, coventry, mansfield wozza, any others?

Kingstonian. God that was awful. Took my daughter who must have been around 10 at the time. I'm surprised she ever agreed to go to another game with me ever again. I played on that pitch a few years later. That's all.

Yup, but I think the comment was referencing the fact we lost 2-1 at home to a lower league club, and as such, we shouldn't be all that confident of reaching the 4th round!

that was one of the first away games i remember going to. an absolutely cracking day out in manchester spoiled by a giggs freekick as i recall.
