When the Goalie is sent off

I have no problem with a straight goalie for goalie replacement but feel the game should continue until a substitution is made as in normal play.

That can't happen. There has to be a player on the field designated as a goalkeeper, so even if they didn't swap a sub on, one of the outfield players would have to grab the keeper's jersey & gloves and go in goal until the sub had come on.
