I remember Gerry Fell being sub for a lot of matches (it seemd to always be either him or Sammy Morgan at No 12!).

I think he usually lost out to Tony Towner when it came to team selection. so would play on the wing when 'Tiger' was unavailable or dropped - was a pretty good deputy as far as I can recall tho, decent player.

Gerry Fell scored the only goal in the first ever match I saw at the Goldstone. It was against Port Vale in April 1977 I think. I remember feeling cheated as I was desperate for Wardie to score. Sorry, Gerry!

You're mixing up two games: as was mentioned above, Fell was part of the deal that brought Clark to the Albion so they didn't play in the same team. Fell did score two goals when we beat Luton 3-2, I think it took us to top of the league (it was the last home game I was to see until December as I was just off to uni).

Clark broke Lil Fuccillo's leg in the following season, when we won 3-1
