[Food] When do you lunch?

I’ve just been accused of being weird in the office.

My working day is 8am to 4:30pm and I choose to take my lunch hour at 1 o’clock.

A colleague thinks that is very odd, doing 5 hours before lunch then only 2 and a half hours after lunch.

I much prefer doing that for a nice short afternoon before buggering off home.

I work from home permanently, but if I don't break for lunch at 12.30pm, my world is in danger of spinning off its axis.

I start work at 6, I try to hold out for midday but usually starving by 11.
That will change soon as we were all told Monday the whole company is being laid off.

On an office day you push it as long as possible before lunch to cut down the post-food sleepy time.

The Duke of Welly opens at 2pm so it's normally a 2pm lunch....

lunch is about time from breakfast, not work time. that said i've always done lunch about 12-2 whether up at times between 6 and 9, so its more about habit/convention.

Work from 9am to 5:30pm and always try and take lunch at 2pm. Like the OP mentioned, always nicer to have a shorter afternoon and if popping out into town for food etc, it's a hell of a lot more quiet than going earlier.

I’m self-employed and I work from home. When I did work in an office I started at 8am and finished at 4:30/5pm. Like the OP I took lunch at 1pm with a view to having a nice short afternoon.

Depends. I get up at 6am. If WFH (study and/or work) I tend to lunch around 11.00-11.30. If I'm in the office I work 8.30-16.30 and take an hour around 12.30ish.

I work 12 hour shifts, 08:00 - 20:00.

Usually have my first lunch at around 14:00 and second around 17:30, although depending on what food I have changes what I eat when..

When I used to go to the office, I would usually have lunch at 1pm. I always preferred coming back and having a short afternoon.

Now I work from home, I tend to have lunch around 12:15.
