To be honest it has been so long since we had three good strikers to choose from that I'll just be delighted to be in that position, IF it ever happens

CMS and Buckley either side of Ulloa with Orlandi behind? Sounds bloody tasty to me

Leo and Lita would be my preferred front two. Both can hold the ball up, win it in the air, and are better at finishing than CMS or Barnes.
Finishing aside, which it can be argued LL's 1 in 4 isn't great, do you actually need 2 players doing the same thing?

I think we'll be seeing plenty of CMS at The Amex, off Ulloa's shoulder.
Oscar can then throw into the mix any of Buckley, Orlandi, Crofts, KLL, SD, and no defence will know what's hitting them.

Less so away, until such time as wins are needed.

Leo and CMS for me. Gotta see this combo, and now we have a manager that might actually give it a go.

According to the Argus and OG yesterday - there are doubts over CMS return date

http://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/10814866.Oscar_admits_he_faces_big_decisions/?ref=mr

I read that yesterday and the vague nature of what they say worries my slightly. If they aren't giving any estimates we could waiting for a while yet before there is any point to a thread like this.

At least Lita is here until Jan 1, hopefully the club will have a better idea as to CMS's likely return well before this.

I think most of us are now used to (jaded) by the vagueness of injury talk from the club after Bridcutt's delayed return.

Four good strikers Squiddy, FOUR. Everyone on this thread seems to be discounting Ashley. When played up front as a striker he is capable of scoring goals. Just take a look at his stats.

Seeing as how Lita as had almost no game time, do we think he is unfit still or is Oscar not convinced by him?

That's a horrible injury to get over. Once pronounced fit to play I see CMS being on the bench a lot for the first five or six weeks. It's then a case of whether he takes his chances. To Oscar he is just another squad player who, like Hoskins too, will need to prove they can bring something to the team. If, and it's a big if, CMS regains full fitness then I believe he'll get gametime and opportunities. I feel as though he will have an impact and finish the season as an important player.

Of course there is a chance Ulloa will be moved on and CMS will once again become the main man, so it's possible he'll have a huge part to play.

They played together in the Hull & Huddersfield games last season.

This is a genuine question. Did Gus under-use this combo, or was he prevented from doing so by CMS's injury? I seem to recall he said he wanted to play them together but repeatedly spurned the chance to do so. Only playing them together twice it appears.

He is not at the required level of fitness for a start (allegedly).

The role of a lone striker and the role he would have in a team with Ulloa upfront with him is very different. You know this (at least I hope you do) but have an anti Barnes agenda and I've just wasted one minute of my life typing this.

As has been posted there was another game where they played part of it together. CMS was on the bench for another three games but that was the sum total (CMS was ill for the Cardiff game) they had before his injury at Bristol.

Pic was tweeted by KLL (I think) of CMS on that anti gravity treadmill about 3 weeks ago. I've no idea what this signifies with regard to how close he is to normal training, but it's better than seeing him on crutches.
