The Mantis Shrimp's wrecking ball "fists" spring forth from their bodies at 50 mph, accelerating quicker than a .22-caliber bullet. At those speeds, the water surrounding them briefly reaches the temperature of the Sun’s surface.

They are thought to have the most complex eyes in the animal kingdom and have the most complex visual system ever discovered. Mantis shrimp can detect cancer cells with their eyes.

If pound for pound

Isn't this just a question of toxicity?

A Great White Shark or Honey Badger weighing a pound isn't going to do you much harm

Whereas a Black Mamba weighing a pound can still kill you

Isn't there a frog in the Amazon jungle that's more poisonous than anything else

Probably doesn't even weigh a pound :lolol:

I’d pay good money to see a Honey Badger vs Salty pound-for-pound match up.

You could probably fish out a baby Honey Badger sized Salty from some swamp and luzz it in to a Honey Badger enclosure in a zoo if you had any balls. The result? A matching crocodile handbag and purse set.

As was the case with the recent US elections, postal votes will be added after the close of the voting.

I will add votes to the shrimp once the site closes off in-person voting.

It's over!

The group of death has come to a gory and glorious conclusion with Honey Badger(53 votes) and Salt Water Crocodile(48) progress to the semi finals where they'll take on the runner up and winner respectively of group B.

Commiserations to Mantis Shrimp, Orca and Grasshopper Mouse who performed valiantly but at this level of competition valiance isn't enough so they head home battered and beaten.

Well done H.B and SWC, rest up well for next weeks semi finals.

Group B will be up shortly.

The unlucky hero - battered, but not yet (b)eaten
