If I had one probably 28, break 100 sometimes but not always, golf for me is about playing enough good shots to make we want to do it again. I'm not greedy, normally about 15 would do it.

Very enjoyable round at Hassocks on Tuesday, last time I played there it had just been opened and still looked a building site, much nicer now - apart from all the water.

I've just got back from a lesson to sort out my driving troubles and I've been advised to change my grip on the club. Blimey it felt strange but was hitting some good balls by the end. Looks like some tough practice ahead and I'm playing at the Forest of Arden on Monday and Tuesday

For you beginners out there I would suggest you go and book a few lessons with a local club professional as these guys really know their stuff and will put you on the right track. A few quid spent on lessons now will pay off in the long run believe me. I started about 10 years ago and had my first handicap of 25 and have come slowly down to 11. It is the most frustrating game in the world but also the most satisfying when it goes right.

A bad golfer remembers his good shots. A good golfer remembers his bad shots.

I played a beautiful 30 yard chip with my sand wedge yesterday to within an inch of the hole. My best shot in weeks.
