I love the views from Poynings and also from Hollingbury [that is if can ignore the motorbike skid-marks on the greens, the pikey caravans by the 17th tee, and the huge numbers of random MORONS who walk right across the fairway just as you're about to tee off.]

Give the land back to the people and stop using it for exclusive little golfing wankfests.

West Sussex Golf Club in Pulborough - but only because I used to audit their accounts. Golf is for sales reps and a waste of effort.

Can you get on there? Won't let me near the place till my old man has been a memebr for at least 45 years, and his old man has been a member for the preceding 50 years. (actually that is a bit of an exageration but it is a bit like that there)

Even a friend of mine is a member, and I can't play with them because I can't prove I have known them for more than 10 years. And it costs £75 a round for guests.

Here is an excerpt from their membership requirements

"The West Sussex welcomes new members. However the Club is fortunate to have a Waiting Pool for membership and it is possible that a new applicant might have to wait up to four years before elected. Younger candidates, especially those with low handicaps, are usually fast-tracked.

Candidates should be proposed and seconded by members of at least 5 years standing, and then must be supported by signature from a further 8 members, of whom 4 should also submit letters of support. Special arrangements can be made for a candidate new to the area to be sponsored by the Committee."

And it's in West Chitington and Wiggenholt really, not Pulborough. The 15th hole is about 400 yards from my house, which is definately in West Chiltington.
